More about me

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in education for over 20 years: I have been an English teacher in secondary schools in Bristol and Cornwall, a pastoral lead, an Early Years teacher and Forest School leader. I have extensive experience working in different stages of child development, working with people with SEND and their parents and carers.

I retrained as a counsellor because my own experience of therapy was transformational and I believe that we can all benefit from a supportive, therapeutic relationship. This is the kind of work I have been itching to explore for years - 1 to 1 holistic support for people who are seeking change.

My counselling experience is diverse and I welcome anyone who may be seeking support. I have recently worked with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, PMDD and chronic pain, grief, neurodiversity, cancer diagnosis, domestic abuse, sexual assault, low self-esteem, caring responsibilities, palliative care and health-related trauma. Alongside this,  I have particular experience in the following areas:

Health-related trauma – I have worked in NHS Critical Care, supporting people living with health-related trauma, chronic pain and illness or undergoing investigation and treatment. I have experience of supporting family members and carers of people living with health-related trauma and its impact. I also offer support around palliative care. If travelling to sessions is difficult for you, please get in touch to discuss alternative locations and options.

Domestic Abuse Support – working with survivors of domestic abuse and people with complex needs. I have completed specialist training in domestic abuse and sexual violence, and my practice is trauma-informed, always offering choice and moving at a pace that feels okay for you.

Young People – working with students experiencing exam stress, social anxiety and SEND (such as Autism, ADHD, ADD and PDA). I offer a calm space with sensory stimulation, creative activities, and the flexibility to work in a way that feels right for each individual. Together we can explore feelings, build confidence and develop coping strategies.

Parents – supporting parents as they navigate the challenges of family life, whether that is stress, relationship changes, or supporting a child with additional needs. I also work with those facing infertility challenges, offering a compassionate space to explore the emotional impact this can have.
